Forgotten Writing Skill

There is one writing skills I wished I would have learned when I was going to school before I started as a beginning professional writer - Project Management.

Why is project management so important? You might be thinking, but I just want to be a writer. Well... you still are and will be. Think about the classes you are taking or took in college. Did you ever have one project at a time? Even if you did, how did you get it done on time? How did you juggle that along with the rest of your responsibilities?

Once you get out into the workforce you will have to work on multiple writing projects, and each one will have to be completed on a specific timeline.

So how do you improve you skills? Here are a few tips:

• Know your objectives

• Know how to determine the scope of the project

• Create a schedule

• Understand what would keep you from finishing on time

• Communicate clearly
